This course will explore the relationship between internal and external cellular environment highlighting key mechanisms in cellular function and tissue behaviour. Topics explored include Organization of Biological Tissue, Cellular and extracellular filaments, The cellular membrane, Biofluids and molecular transport, Cell/tissue behaviour, Adhesion and migration, Mechanotransduction, Embryonic development, Stem cell and tissue regeneration, Hypothesis in cellular/tissue behaviour and properties. Students will be assessed weekly via quizzes to further gauge understanding of topics covered. Course assessment will be done using assignments, case studies, an in-course test and a final examination.
