Course info

The purpose of this course is to develop the student’s ability in Civil Engineering Design, as well as the ability to work in a team. The emphasis is on selflearning, creativity, design, understanding, project teamworking and communication skills, as well as engineering judgement and problem solving. The project gives professional orientation to work in the final year by simulating as closely as is possible the investigation and design works which are required for substantial Civil Engineering works and projects in the provision of buildings, lifeline facilities and Civil Engineering infrastructure. The integration of health and safety, and risk and vulnerability in the design process gives the student a complete outlook on the design process.
